Academic Time-Table And Exams Now Standardised - NOUN V.C, Prof Abdalla Uba Adamu Says

The Vice Chancellor Of Nation Open University of Nigeria Prof, Abdalla Uba Adamu says the standardization of students academic time-table and examination being championed by the management is to enable the students have more time to study their programs and enable them prepare adequately for the examinations.

The Vice Chancellor who stated this at a meeting he held with Deans of faculties and H.O.Ds in Lagos said members of staff saddled with the responsibility of conducting the examination would equally have adequate time to prepare for the huge task ahead of them.

He went on and said that the need to clarify this procedure became necessary in view of the numerous complaints of unnecessary delay in academic calendar in some quarters.
He described as unfair, the situation in the past whereby students commence examination barely two weeks after they concluded their registration processes.

He said that new procedure will now be such that as soon students complete registration for courses, the portal would be closed to new admissions until ten weeks later within  which they were expected to familiarize themselves with the study materials and also interact among themselves before the commencement of the examinations.

Adamu allayed the fear that examinations might be twice in a year anymore, insisting that henceforth, examinations would now be held in June and November every year. Adding that for next round of admissions, the portal would be opened immediately Senate approve the results of the 2nd semester examinations.
